Glass &Your Bathroom

Bathroom With Glass Shower – Stuart, FL – Monterey Glass Specialists

Is your bathroom more like a closet than a spa? How can you make this small-sized room feel larger? Take a look at some of the ways glass can make your bathroom feel larger and become the bathroom of your dreams.

Install a Glass Shower Enclosure

If a solid wall separates the space, this can make your already small bathroom look and feel even smaller than it really is. A frameless glass enclosure has the opposite effect. It provides the illusion of extra space. The ability to see into the shower, without the intrusion of a frame, wall, or any other structural element, can almost double the space.

A frameless glass enclosure is a great way to use glass to make your space feel larger. While a traditional glass door will add the illusion of increased space, it won't have the same effect as a frameless enclosure. A full frameless enclosure eliminates lines, posts, bars, or anything else that may distract the eye.

Install a Glass Wall

If you need something to separate the bathroom's overall area, a solid shower wall or any other privacy or divider type of wall will likely make the space feel smaller.

If your goal is to create a segmented aesthetic or divide the room into multiple-use areas, a glass wall provides a visual separation without making the space appear smaller. Along with a full floor to ceiling wall, you can also install partial walls to change the space without making it smaller.

Install a Mirrored Wall

Sometimes a glass wall isn't the right way to go. Whether there's a privacy issue, you don't have the space, or it gets in the way, you have other options. Instead of building an entirely new wall, cover an existing one with a floor to ceiling mirror. Mirrors can double your space visually.

While a custom mirror wall won't literally make the room larger, the reflection in it creates an optical illusion of additional area. Not only will the wall increase the visual space, but it can also act as a functional part of the room. You'll have one more mirror to look into as you get ready. This could be important if multiple people use the bathroom at the same time.

Install Wall Mirrors

If an entire floor to ceiling mirrored wall isn't an option for your bathroom, you can still use custom cut glass to create the illusion of space. Several medium-sized mirrors grouped together or one larger mirror surrounded by smaller ones will reflect the light and space.

Like a mirrored wall, this can also make a small bathroom feel larger. This strategy also adds extra space to prep, primp, and get ready in the morning (or any other time of day)-again like a full mirrored wall would. If you're not sure which option is best for you, a mirrored wall or a few custom mirrors, talk to a glass specialist about the pros and cons of each.

Install Glass Cabinet Doors

Storage doesn't have to take up visual space. Even though you need somewhere to store extra towels, linens, and bathroom products (such as soap, shampoo, and other toiletries), you don't need to close the area off.

Instead of traditional wooden cabinet doors, use a glass version. This bathroom upgrade does not have to include a major remodel or a full set of pricey cabinets. If the existing cabinetry is in acceptable condition, remove the solid doors and replace them with custom glass creations.
